Oklahoma state testing is happening across the district from April 1-May 15.

Why does state testing matter?

For high school students:

  • The ACT, CCRA Science, and US History state assessments are graduation requirements;
  • Taking the ACT provides students with a free college reportable score;
  • State assessment scores can help with concurrent enrollment and Tulsa Technology enrollment opportunities; and
  • State tests measure how much students have learned and identify students’ strengths and growth areas.

For grades 3rd-8th:

  • Assessment scores are listed and considered on magnet school applications.
  • State tests measure how much students have learned and identify students’ strengths and growth areas.

Tips for preparing for state testing:

  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Eat a balanced breakfast
  • Arrive at school on time
  • Read the test instructions carefully
  • Pace yourself - don't rush through the questions
  • Think positively! You can do this!
