Chelsea Sherwood has been selected as the 2024-2025 McClure Elementary Teacher of the Year!
Chelsea joined Team Tulsa five years and has taught kindergarten at McClure for three years.
"I wanted to become a teacher to make a bigger impact on students and be a safe person for them. I love building and maintaining positive relationships," said Chelsea. "I have loved teaching at McClure. The community, students, and staff make the school year so much fun. We really care about our families here."
Chelsea is also passionate about dancing and even helps coach an after school dance club at McClure.
"I started dancing when I was 3 years old and did it all throughout college. I started teaching it on the side when I graduated college. After moving to Tulsa five years ago, I started missing it. This year, I had the opportunity to start a dance crew after school. I’m getting to enjoy my passion again and share it with the students at McClure."
