Welcome to McClure!

Our guiding philosophy is to help students become self-directed learners. Teachers at McClure focus on a collaborative environment to help students gain extra knowledge from both their teachers and their peers. Teachers support students in becoming lifelong learners. All classrooms focus on social emotional learning and start their day with check-ins with students and a community time to build relationships.

Thanks to a $415 million bond issue passed by voters, we are home to a new 13 classroom addition, with four of the classrooms also functioning as FEMA certified safe rooms. In the event of severe weather, students will be protected in reinforced structures complete with ventilation systems, emergency supplies, and separate restrooms.

Social Emotional Learning

We are committed to a culture that supports a sense of belonging and support for both adults and children. McClure is one of five recipients of the Wallace Foundation's Social/Emotional Learning Grant, aimed at supporting the development of children's cognitive, interpersonal, and character-building skills through social emotional anchors and practices. We call ourselves a "McFamily," focusing on supportive classroom environments so we can educate the whole child by meeting his or her social, emotional, and academic needs. With strong social and emotional skills, our students will be able to set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
