Welcome to McClure

Welcome to McClure

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to McClure Elementary — we are so glad you and your family are here! It is my absolute honor to serve as your principal, and I want you to know from the very first page of this handbook that this school belongs to all of us. Every decision we make, every program we run, and every goal we set is driven by one unwavering belief: every child who walks through our doors deserves to feel safe, loved, and challenged to grow. At McClure, we don't just teach academics — we build people. Through our strong social-emotional learning practices, consistent school-wide expectations, and a school culture rooted in belonging, we are committed to making sure your child wakes up each morning excited to come to school.

Academically, we are working harder than ever to make sure your child gets the support they need to succeed. From our Walk to Read intervention program and High Dosage Tutoring to our after-school Youth at Heart enrichment program that serves 100 of our students, we have built layers of support so that no child falls through the cracks. Our teachers collaborate consistently as a team — analyzing student data, planning together, and refining their craft — because we know that a strong teacher in front of your child every single day is the greatest gift we can give them. We also believe that attendance is one of the most powerful tools a family has. Every day your child is here, on time and ready to learn, matters deeply — and we will always work alongside you to remove any barrier that makes getting to school difficult.

Most importantly, we want you to feel like a true partner in your child's education — not just a visitor to it. We will celebrate your children loudly, communicate with you honestly, and lean on you as the expert on your own kids. Together — families, staff, and community — we are building something special here at McClure, and I am so grateful to be on this journey with you.

With gratitude,

Dr. Adam Drumm
Principal, McClure Elementary
